2019 Las Vegas Scramble For A Cure Ball Drop
Welcome to the official website for the 11th Annual Scramble For A Cure Golf Tournament. The tournament is intended to raise awareness of Pulmonary Hypertension and to raise money for the
Pulmonary Hypertension Association
, a great organization that not only provides money to support research in looking for a cure, but also provides a variety of programs to help support patients and their families. We also want everyone to come out and have a good time for a good cause.
This year's tournament will be on Saturday, April 20, 2019 with an 8:00AM shotgun start and will again take place at Angel Park Golf Club in Las Vegas. See our
Tournament Info
page for complete information.
Pulmonary Hypertension is a rare, often misdiagnosed, life threatening illness that causes high blood pressure in the arteries going to the lungs. It causes the patient to suffer severe shortness of breath, which makes simple tasks like walking to the mailbox a struggle. It is also very difficult on the heart and eventually leads to heart failure. Currently, there is no cure and the best treatments can cost over $100,000 a year. There have been many advances in treatments in the last 10 years, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
The inspiration for this tournament is Heather Massey, who passed away as a result of Pulmonary Hypertension at the age of 28. We look forward to honoring her memory again this year and raising awareness of a disease many have never heard of.
Thank you to Sundance Helicopters for sponsoring the ball drop!
